Flowing from the flat space that humans discard, surges the marrow of the earth. An exemplification of the ever-persistent entities that swirl and coil amidst our own essence, despite our attempt to sever any connection and self-exceptionalise beyond distortion. Forms reminiscent of the natural matter they originate from begin to display the close connections they share with one another; other organisms on our host, Earth. The vivid colours of each pigment demonstrate nature’s wondrous ability to provide, accommodate and imbue other life, opposing our empty marks of desolation we leave on the earth. The deification of our own existence through capitalistic hedonism has left us all with a profound dissonance between ourselves and nature. I find myself ambivalent between the eco-warriors and the obdurate Corporate malfeasance. Trapped in the perpetual cycle of cynicism and optimism, I find myself unable to navigate the ethical paradoxes of everyday life as an individual, an artist, a student, and a disabled person. How do I care for the planet and adhere to my credo without sacrificing my individual exigency?
